The death of our president John Curteis.
This is very sad news. Our president John Curteis died suddenly on September 13th.
John had supported us as trustee and treasurer in the very first trust in 1997 and then as president of the present trust in 2008. We shall miss his friendship greatly. He was always willing to help us and to enjoy our activities, always ready to make impromptu speeches to help things along.
At the evening in November 2011 featuring the 70th anniversary of the fire at the castle, he reminded us that his family, the Edmund Thomases of Wenvoe, owned Ruperra in 1700. How sad that he did not live to see Ruperra in safe hands once again.
We have sent our condolences to his widow and his family, and the Trust will be represented at his Memorial Service at Llandaff Cathedral on the afternoon of October 19th.
