Details of the Castle sale.

The sale details can be found on Savills website.
Savills Cardiff Properties for Sale.

The castle is described as a 20 bedroom property. "An exciting opportunity to acquire a Grade I listed castle."

"Situation

Officially recorded as an ancient monument and originally constructed in the seventeenth century as a status symbol for one of Wales's most influential men, an opportunity exists for a discerning purchaser to acquire a dramatic fantasy castle now in need of total restoration.

Description

Set amidst its own grounds of about 30 acres and positioned such that it affords panoramic views, this is an opportunity for a person of vision to create the Principality's finest residence, subject to the necessary planning consents."

In case anyone is confused, or perhaps the Castle has been upgraded overnight, it is Grade II* listed, not Grade I, although many architectural historians have thought that it should be Grade I.

Ruperra Castle for Sale

The news we've all been waiting for. The castle and site have languished and deteriorated for 12 years since they were last purchased. Let's hope that the future will be brighter.

Savills Estate Agents sent press releases to the BBC, the Western Mail and the Argus on Thursday afternoon.

If 'Savills Cardiff' is entered into your search engine the sale can be tracked under 'houses' but as yet it has not been entered on the site.

The BBC entry can be read on

The Western Mail entry is on

There is no entry on the Argus site as yet.
