Current situation at Ruperra
It is nearly three months since any news was posted on this site. This is because there is hardly any news to post.
It seems that barbed wire now surrounds the boundary of the Castle grounds and it is to be hoped that this will make access more difficult for potential vandals until the future of the Castle is decided.
Some communication has taken place between the Welsh Assembly Government, Cadw and Caerphilly County Borough Council, but no decisions have been made about the next steps now that the housing proposals have been rejected.
It is unfortunate that the rescue of Ruperra has come to what seemed like a successful conclusion in the middle of a global recession. As soon as there are more grounds for optimism they will be posted here.
